Mercury Classic Cars

The Mercury Escort Track Day/Rally Car is our own model and is built with the track in mind. This means that issues such as overall weight and weight distribution are considered throughout the build. The vehicle is also fitted with many performance enhancing features.

The car is rebuilt as per the standard Mercury Rallye Sport Escort with the addition of;

Shell The body shell is strengthened and reinforced with an RS plating kit. To assist weight distribution, handling and improve under bonnet space the battery is relocated to the boot.

Mechanical The engine is cooled by a large increased capacity alloy radiator, electric cooling fan and oil cooler. Engine Performance is slightly improved with a tubular exhaust manifold and K&N filter. A limited slip differential improves traction as do soft compound low profile tyres.

Suspension Handling is improved with polybushes. Uprated front and rear dampers, lowered suspension front and rear and RS style radius arms. Steering is improved with a polybushed quickrack.

Brakes Braking is improved with ventilated discs, removed back plates, spaced calipers, high temperature tolerant pads and braided hoses.

Interior Bucket seats with full rally harnesses are fitted. An alloy centre console is fitted with a battery cut off switch.

Exterior & Wheels Tow hooks, Alloy bonnet pins and 7” Superlight alloy wheels are fitted.
