Mercury Classic Cars

We will build an identical copy of an RS1600, 1800 or 2000 - Twin Cam, Mexico, Sport, Harrier. You will know all to well that some of these cars are so rare now that it is impossible to find one for sale. The Mercury Escort RS Illusion option allows you to get the car that you have always wanted in the colour you have always wanted at an affordable price.

As with the Introductory Model the RS Illusion is stripped to a bare rolling shell, with any bodywork that is necessary carried out to bring it back to standard. It is then re-sprayed in the colour of your choice. As the car is assembled and again on completion it will be Waxoyled, i.e. all box sections, inner sills, inside doors, pillars, rear arches, underside floor area to help prevent against corrosion.

Unlike the standard model the Mercury Escort Illusion will be fitted with several original RS features including dash ‘clocks’, steering wheel, seats, rubber spoiler, decals and body fittings. The idea is to replicate your chosen model as accurately as we can.

Shell The 2 door shell has all rusty metal cut out and replaced with new panels. It is 2 pack painted in an original colour of your choice on all exterior panels, under the boot and bonnet, inside the engine and boot compartment, door checks and inside of doors and rear ¼'s except RS2 Custom. Correct Satin Black detailing relevant to model.

Mechanical The engine, gearbox and axle are inspected and fully serviced. Standard carb and tubular exhaust system. New parts i.e. clutch, speedo, throttle cables, coils etc are fitted as necessary.

Brakes The brakes are fully overhauled and new parts are fitted where necessary.

Interior The dashboard is reconditioned, original type or new bucket seats are fitted on new carpet. The car is fully valeted.

Exterior & Wheels Original bumpers and alloy wheels with new tyres fitted. Restored as per original.
